I think it was this machine that somebody from Everlast posted some specs that are not in the manual.
If I remember correctly (and I may not) there is a preset pre-flow of 0.5 sec, there is a preset upslope of 8 sec starting at 5 amps, the downslope ending amperage is preset at 5 amps (?) and I know the pulse background percentage and time are preset, but I don't know what settings they are.
Are any of these numbers correct?
Does pulse only work in 4T or maybe 2T, but not with a foot pedal?
Do the upslope and downslope only work in 4T or maybe 2T, but not with a foot pedal?
Having the presets saves from having to set everything and from having to know where to set everything.
Do these features function?
The manual doesn't seem to say much.
If some or all of these features onlt work in 4T then they wouldn't work with a foot pedal.
They might be good features in 2T, but I thought I saw posted somewhere that they work in 4T mode only.
I have a Power i-TIG 200T and has a lot of manual settings, but what really sticks out with it is the 26 TIG torch and cable are heavy to work with.
The 17 TIG torch and cable with PowerARC 161STH would seem handier and the cable is the same that can be used with a number 9 TIG torch.
Buying a foot pedal for the 161STH would cost as much as buying a smaller TIG torch and cable for the 200T though.
I can understand not using low speed pulse with a foot pedal, but there are some techniques that use high peed pulse with a foot pedal for stainless steel and some chrome moly.
It seems that the 161STH could save from having to set the pre-flow, the upslope time and starting amperage, the pulse background amperage and pulse time.
I know downslope time is adjustable, but I think downslope amperage is fixed and preset to the minimum.
It looks like a easy setup with some good features, but the manual doesn't cover the details much.
