Thread: W300 Water Cooler Quick Connect

  1. Default W300 Water Cooler Quick Connect

I just got my new W300 water cooler today to add to my 255EXT. It came with a couple of brass fittings that appear to be for the quick connects. I was going to go look for a new water cooled flex head 20 and figured I'd make sure those fit in case I bought something like a CK etc. It went in easy enough with a little pressure but now the fitting is stuck in the coupler. Are they normally pretty tough to pull out, or am I supposed to turn it etc? Feels like a stupid question but I dont want to wreck it before I even try it.

Feel free to throw some torch suggestions while you're at it lol. I love my Rotaflex 17 but I would like to buy something local for the weekend.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Are you talking about the barbed end or the coupling end?

The coupling end. I pulled real hard and got it out. I was afraid I was gonna break the wire or something. I guess it's good.

Did you slide the collar back to release it and hold it?

Yeah I did. It feels like it needs to go just a little further but it's hitting the back. I ended up getting them in but I hope I never have to do that again. The argon line on the machine fits like you would expect but the water lines are a poor fit. I had to put a small pair of vise grips loosely over the water lines and push with two hands. I was afraid I was going to wreck them but they look good still. I think the fittings on the cooler need to be replaced eventually but I'm loving my 20 flex head torch regardless.

Call our guys and they can send you new fittings. I bet they'll plug into the air fitting. If they will go in, then the cooler fittings may just be tight. If you can get them to go into the cooler with grips, then you may just need to work them in and out a few times.
