Which Everlast Tig to Buy
My Miller Maxstar 280 Tig/Stick failed.
I've had my eye on the Everlast Powerarc 280STH for months, but now with this virus nonsense it seems that the 280 is out of stock until July.
I'm newer to Tig, but I only weld steel, so all I really need is a DC machine.
My requirements:
- Be able to Tig single pass 1/4" steel
I know Everlast has several Tig offerings, but what I REALLY want to know is what their most rock solid Tig platfrom is. Having no machine for the last month has been a nightmare, and DO NOT want to got through this again.
I would GREATLY appreciate any tips/guidance as to whether I should wait for the Powerarc 280's to arrive or choose another model.
THANKS.

You are not going to find one unit these days in our line that dominates the other. Designs are similar, but scaled, proven and tested.
If you want a good unit all the way around the PowerTIG 255EXT is AC/DC, but offers everything the 280STH does plus more.
If you want DC only, Then the Power i-TIG 200T is a great choice for DC TIG. It's a powerful little welder. Should handle 1/4" if the joint is prepped.
