Thread: 100% Argon VS Stargon AL VS Argon/Helium Mix TIG on Aluminum

  1. Default 100% Argon VS Stargon AL VS Argon/Helium Mix TIG on Aluminum

    Yeah,

I noticed the latest Everlast YouTube Channel weekly video (Aluminum Bad Fit-Up Solutions) had the guy using Stargon AL as the shielding gas, which is apparently a "proprietary" blend of Praxair (I hate de facto State I.P. monopolies, especially related to periodic table elements. And the next step may be State monopolies granted to sole privileged companies on certain laws of physics, too. Bad for customers and fair pricing).

Anyway, the Everlast video had the stuff in use, without any real mention about it. I mean, I?d hadn?t heard of it before. But Jody Collier did a recent comparison on the stuff, which may be helpful in showing it?s performance and how to get the most out of it. Jody does some troubleshooting and some cut-and-etching, which make it a great video.

Here's the recent Everlast video that had the Stargon AL in use, too.
