Power tig 200DX how do you know if your AC balance moterboard is faulty?

Having a hell of a time with the 200DX.

AC balance does not seem to be doing much like it used too. How do you know for sure that the AC balance control card, or what ever it is is faulty?

Can I test or probe with a meter?

I'm certainly not anything resembling an electronic technician, but with an older analog unit like that, it may only be the rheostatic dial itself that is starting to fail, which could be a simple swap-out.
