Thread: PowerPro 164Si electrode sticking

  1. Default PowerPro 164Si electrode sticking

I'm having a problem with initiating the arc on my PowerPro 164Si that I have traced to the plasma torch electrode sticking in the retracted position. I know that everywhere says to keep inside the torch head clean but I see no way to access anywhere that may be causing the electrode to stick. Removing the cup and freeing the electrode up allows me to continue working but it is getting old very quickly. Any ideas on what I am missing?

    Thanks
    Ian

You can disassemble the torch head, clean it, and lubricate the o rings (or replace them if they are burned). Use a thin coat of dielectric grease.

Thanks Mark, is there anywhere I can get a good cut-away drawing of the torch head?

No. None has ever been produced from the factories that make them as far as I know.
