Thread: I-Mig 205

  1. Default I-Mig 205

I will be welding exhaust pipe and just was going to ask if anyone has tried to use .023 wire in the I-Mig 205?

  2. Default

The only issue i would see is the Rollers are for .030 - .035 and this is listed as the standard size. but this does not necessarily mean it would not run smaller , as a example the spool size can be smaller than the listing on the specs and this runs with no issues.
The only spare Rollers i currently have in stock are for Flux Wire from .030 - .045 .
The Imig 200 and Imig 205 both take the same rollers ( in fact the 250P is the same )
To be honest i have not even run the flux cored wiring on the unit yet so i can not even give a opinion on how this works. Although i will likely pick up some flux to give it a try
    Cheers

Not worth your time and effort to convert the IMIG 205 to use .023 wire, .030 will do the job. and has a much wider heat range than .023. with only a 10 amp higer low end setting.

    Duncan,
The 250P in the US I believe has a different roller than the others.

And there are two rollers in the 250P.
