Few powerplasma questions for everlast

I am somewhat looking at getting a plasma to help with some of my fab work. I am interested in the PP 60 or 50. These machines are very similar from what I see. Most of my fabrication work would be 1/2" cutting max, but repair stuff is whatever, so for that I like the bigger unit, but how much difference is there really? How long is the torch and what torch does it come with, can I get consumables locally? this is a big thing for me. I need a 25 foot torch. Air supply to plasma is no issue. I am also considering getting one of those 200 stick welders sent along to try too.

You can purchase an EXTRA 25 foot torch, but the standard torches are 12-15ft. The PP 50 has the most commonly available consumables. The 60 can be found widely on line, or bought from us or course, but there are quality differences in the online products.

I will let Performance and Support answer this one. BUT if you need a longer Torch for either model and want it in somewhat of a reasonable time i suggest you Decide soon as i have placed a order for some different torches and at this time i can add a custom length Torch to the Order ( both units come with 14' ) If on the other hand it is not ordered in the next week or so then it may be a little difficult getting one in for you without having to wait a few months

I have used the PP50 and PP60. The 50, the consumables are easier to get, even Harbor Freight has them ($20 a pair). The 60 is a bit stronger and I feel the consumables last longer for me. Currently, I use the PP60.

I talked to Alex today, he said he should have 25' torches in soon. Do I have to buy my torch from Everlast or can I somehow adapt other brands, not that I have a problem with the Everlast torch, I just want to keep my options open. Ideally I could buy the 60 and get a more popular torch when I go for the longer torch, in order to have a 60 with popular consumables, possible? Or can I put a different torch on the 50? do the 50 and 60 both have the same hookup for torches?

Mark, I am the one that was talking to you today when your phone died. I will try to get back with you tomorrow. I think I will go with the 50 and once it gets here take the torch over to my welding supply and see if they can set me up with a 25' torch, if they can't I will get Alex to get me a 25' I just would like to have a local outlet for the torch parts as that is what sees the most abuse around here and a new everlast torch is 5 days away if its in stock. I also wanted to see about checking my high freq contact settings on my EX as once in awhile it is hard to get lit up, not often though. It might be okay, I just want to be sure.
