Just got my 250 EX tig and cooler, everything appears to have arrived in good shape thanks to Duncans bubble pack method of shipping. Got a huge tank of argon from one of the local suppliers, took two of them young pups to load it in the pickup and one old fart (me) to unload it at my shop.
Why does a guy over 65 years of age need a TIG welder and why choose the 250 EX? First part is easy, I like to learn how to do things, the second part is easier I choose the 250 EX over the 256 and smaller TIG machines cause, I already have two plasma cutters a PP 50 & 80 other than that I might have chosen the 256 which has a great reputation from it's owners, and I wanted a TIG machine that had all the bells and whistles, didn't wanna be sitting there later wondering what it would be like to own the deluxe model... like if only I had spent a few more hundred dollars..too old to play that game... besides Jodies movies got me hooked on the 250EX. Did I forget to mention I got one "ell" of deal from Duncan, cause he is having his open house on Sept 18th.
So bottom line: I may not know squat about TIG welding now, but I will be teaching my self in my shop this winter.
A guy asked me why I own five evelast products, a
power arc 200, Imig 205 A PP 50 and a 80 and now a 250 EX.
Ans: could be the service, the product, and the price. also I have less than half the money tied up in all that than he has is in his new skidoo.
So I be off to tig school this winter in my shop and I know the teacher quite well (me).
You are never too old to learn new things.
