    Ive got a brand new PP60 I havent even plugged it in yet I was curious is it possible to change it over to a hypertherm torch and cord setup?

    Good question, I'd like to know too. I've got the Euro plug on mine.

    First,

    A PP60 torch and a hypertherm torch do not start the arc the same way. It would be impossible. Hypertherm is blowback start, ours is High Frequency

    Second, you would have to modifiy hypertherm's proprietary, patented connection system to fit our units or install hypertherms on ours, either of which is not a good prospect. But since the first issue makes issue a moot point, I don't think it is much of an issue, though it probably could be done with some effort.

    That being the case what other torches might fit the PP60?

    Many differerent Trafimet torches that support Hi Frequency. Some panasonic torches, similar to ESAB. But connection is always the kicker since so many companies are proprietary on their fittings. The trafimet is the most widely accepted torch for multiple manufacturerers, not producing their own. Typically, the A series trafimet are HF.

    My PP60 uses a slightly different torch to that of the US Model. You can see this more clearly when looking at the consumables each torch uses.
