    Default aluminum stick electrode?

Hey guys. I was wondering if any of you have ever used this aluminum stick electrode I see available. I had been told that such a thing existed and sure enough it is available at my local fastenal dealer. (no I do not have a spool gun mig.) I can think of a coupl of was in which I might be able to make use of it off the truck if it works worth a crap. Hope this isnt faux paux to mention on a site primarily devoted to tig.

Here is a thread over at Welding Web that a member there did some testing and experimenting with aluminum electrodes.

Are you kidding? This site is not primarily devoted to TIG. Its for MIG, STICK or whatever. Its just that TIG junkies hang out here. We sell one of the finest MIG welders on the market. And for serious stick welders, we sell one of the best DC inverter units to ever lay a weld, no joke.

We welcome all questions...even crazy ones about stick welding aluminum.

It can be done, but its sort of like trying to shake the remaining water out of a water hose after you shut the spigot off. You have to get the hang of it, and then it still will be difficult.
