U 205 second pressure regulator

You recommend a second air pressure regulator between the compressor and the U205. You list two in your catalog. What is the difference between them and would they be suitable?

The reason for a primary stage regulator is to reduce the pressure supplied to the unit, and to keep from accidentally charging the system with more than 90 psi. Like many air tools, psi should be regulated at the tank to 90 psi. Also, though I am not sure this is what you may be referring to, a primary water dryer should be installed. The regulator/filter is designed to trap big slugs of water and other contaminates, not to eliminate water vapor in the air.

I understand the purpose. My question is really what is the difference between the two regulator/filters you list in your catalog? The description of them in the catalog is very minimal.

The ones we list are for replacement purposes only for the units we sell or for other brand generic applications. One has a self contained regulator, the other is merely a filter/trap. The units come with the filter or filter/regulator that is appropriate for the model at no extra cost, as an included part of your unit purchase.

To properly dry and regulate the air pressure you will need to purchase this from another source locally. We do not supply or sell this type filter for the unit.

I posting a side by side comparison of all three type configurations that we have for the filter/dryers. This will allow you to see some of the physical differences.
The Plama cutters with built in regulators do not need the regulator, so it is a simple trap. The Supercut series have built in gauges but no regulators so they need a regulator and no gauge. The multiprocess units with no gauge need both regulator and gauge.

I guess I am confused about what type of device I need as opposed to the type you sell. I find a lot of stuff similar to what you have, so how will what I need be described differently.

You are asking about regulators. Are you asking about air compressor regulators or argon regulators? In both cases, the units come with them. The first generation units did not all come with them...they do now.
