I see plenty of folks building welding carts here and especially like Dave’s diamond plate job.
I was originally going to build one from steel but since receiving my PowerPro 205, I’ve gotten the aluminium welding bug. A good friend of mine constructed a TIG cart from square aluminium tubing a while back so I decided to go the same route and get in some welding practice.
First job was to build the frame out of 25x25x3mm square tube. This used about 15m of tube. Bends were done on my mate’s home-made bender.
Next came the sheet work. Shelves are cut out of 3mm sheet. I also added a piece of 6mm plate to mount the air regulator and another piece to secure the gas cylinder. The cable hangers are formed out of 12mm round bar.
