I ordered a foot pedal through SSC controls and a connector direct from Everlast. SSC were really easy to deal with and got the pedal in the mail (UPS) the following day. Hopefully I'll get everything delivered for assembly and testing this weekend. I really look forward to testing this upgrade! I'll try and post a review and pics this weekend!
Good read, I'll have to give this a shot. I'd like to get something a little more "friendly" underfoot.

Any updates?
Got the foot pedal I ordered from SSC Controls and the connector from Everlast friday and went out to the garage to try to get underway. The plug that I was sent wasn't the correct one. So, I de-soldered the one off my old foot pedal and resoldered it to the new pedal purchased from the guys in Ohio. I called Everlast and they indicated they would send a replacement plug out post haste. I used Steve Sherer's pinout to rewire but ended up having to swap the rheostat high/low (reversing the red and blue wire)to get everything working correctly. The pedal that SSC sent was heavy and all steel. The cord is quite sturdy and 25ft long. The first thing you notice is the throw on the pedal seems short but it only takes a minute or two in use to get the hang of it. It seems more linear than the E'last version and considerably more consistent. It's also nice not feeling like the pedal could tip over on to it's side or that the foot angle is too steep. A negative for me is that the SSC pedal "take-up" prior to triggering power on is a little bit longer than I like but may be adjustable, I just don't know yet. Overall the new pedal is more ergonomic and seems to be more linear, smoother and less spongy than the factory unit. It was a good mod/upgrade and worth the $135.00 I invested.

The longer pedal "take up" sounds like a plus for me, not a negative. My stock pedal is so sensitive without any "take up", I'm constantly triggering the power before I'm ready.

since im 100% new to tig and the foot pedal thing, im wondering if it will just feel normal to me, or if i will end up wanting another pedal..

From what I have read here on the forums and my own (very) limited experience, the Everlast pedal puts your foot up pretty high off the ground. Feels a bit awkward in my opinion. Many people here seem to prefer a lower profile unit like the SSC. I may wind up ordering one myself.
P.S. Your Celica must be quite a handful with 300whp in a front wheel drive car. Years ago I had a 16V 2 liter turbo Scirocco project car that put down 260whp @ 10 PSI and man was it ever squirrely under power. Now I'm working on a turbo upgrade for my 2002 S4.

Yeah, it's a 2.7TT. I think I'll start a thread over in the "projects" forum and post some pictures of the S4 and the old Scirocco project car there.
I didn't know those came with a factory air to liquid intercooler. Very cool!
Back to welding... I should have a new CK-200 torch any minute now. Waiting for UPS to show up. I'm going to see how things go with the new torch and the Everlast foot pedal (which I just fixed/tweaked). Probably won't be long before I'm ordering the SSC pedal, though.

yea, after seeing pics around the forum of the leads, and how flexable they are...i'll prolly start looking into a new torch setup once i get my unit in and and up and running for a bit.
