Is there any detent in the switch at all? Does it power off if you hold the switch in the down position? Did it work at all from the beginning?

Unplug it and flip the switch rapidly back and forth to see if there is any hope of it working.

If not let us know. We will help you resolve your problem. The switch should work and it is definitely not the norm for those units.

Depending upon how the switch is made, the spring under the switch may have dislodged or jammed.

Yes everything was fine for the first five or six uses. No dents and holding the switch in the off position does turn the unit off, but it will not stay. I'll take a closer look at the switch and see if the spring is out of place. Thanks a lot.

    Yes,

From the sound of it a spring is dislodged. Be sure you disconnect the power to it first. I know that is a given, but sometimes even I forget to.
