    Default New contest: Everlast greenbucks

Some of the folks at Everlast have thought long and hard about a new Spring promotion. We’d really like to see more participation on our site. We know that there are tens of thousands customers are out there and we’d like to see them participate on the forum. So we wanted to offer a little extra incentive, the best to date of anything we have done, and lets face it, its been a while since we had one. So, we wanted to offer the best value for the money we could, and in times past we always offered a specific Everlast product as a prize. Some people participated if the prize was of interest to them and some people did not if it wasn’t something they needed or wanted. This time we have decided to do things a little differently. We are offering our new “Everlast Green Bucks” program, where we will give away an e-gift certificate of $1800.00 toward purchasing any Everlast or combination of Everlast products, redeemable at any time up until January 1, 2012. (Subject to availability). This will allow the winner to “choose” the prize. The “Everlast Green Bucks” certificate may not be redeemed for cash value and any unused credit will be forfeited at the expiration date. If there are items that the winner wishes to purchase that are over the maximum certificate value, the winner may elect to pay the difference between the retail price and the certificate’s value. The gift certificate is redeemable directly through the US Everlast Division, and not through any distributor, dealer or subsidiary. The contest is open to any US citizen or legal resident with a valid shipping address in the lower 48 states (or if the entrant is outside the US, but the entrant will be solely responsible for shipping/ customs). The winner will be chosen by a random drawing from a list of qualified names according to the rules posted here and below. Your post # at the top of your post will be the drawing number you will need to keep for reference. All qualified and valid post numbers will be used for the random drawing. The post number will be matched to the qualifying winning post entry name and the winner will be announced within the week. The winning entrant will then be asked to submit his/her name and full personal information so that the certificate can be filed under his or her true name and identity via telephone or email. This contest terminates April 30, 2010 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time. No purchase is necessary. No Everlast employee, dealer, distributor or any employee of such shall be eligible for participation in this contest. Only one entry per person/family will be accepted.

Of course, there are always rules and conditions,(and a little work) so here’s what you need to do to enter:
    1. Register your name on our site forum. Be patient, we have to confirm your registration and valid email, particularly gmail and yahoo addresses. Reply to the email you are sent and you will be validated as soon as possible. Last minute entries may not be able to qualify.
    2. Post in this thread. You must introduce yourself (if you haven’t already) in this thread and ask to be entered in this thread. You may also introduce yourself in the “introduction” area, but only posting under this thread will qualify you for entry. Your thread post number will be used as the number submitted for the random drawing and it will be matched to your forum name should your number be drawn. PLEASE STATE YOUR STARTING TOTAL POST COUNT BEFORE REPLYING/ENTERING THIS THREAD, SO WE CAN DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY. The post counter will be used to determine number of qualifying posts during this time.
    3. Fill out your signature line, and AVATAR. Include number and type of welding machines or any tools or equipment or anything you are interested in or proud of. If you have any questions or problems while trying to do so, you may ask it under your post here. Also you must add your location, with at least a state reference, and preferably a town or city location. Posting pictures in the Gallery ( though not counted) are strongly encouraged!
    4. By the closing date and time of the contest, the entrant must have accumulated at least 60posts(yes, 60. We know that is a lot, but a little work can make it happen) DURING THE CONTEST, according to the post counter on this site. Any entrant making bogus or spamming posts to increase or “up” his/her post count will be disqualified. Any entrant having his posts removed by the moderator due to discourteous or inappropriate comments will also be disqualified. Entrants are strongly encouraged to start threads of interest that they think are a value to others and post helpful and relevant information in existing threads as well. General chat posts concerning any activity, especially welding, discussion of other products or work related are welcome as well.

And here is the fine print contractual stuff that you need to be aware of:
By entering this contest, the winning entrant agrees to keep and maintain the Everlast unit(s) and not to sell or otherwise divest the unit for a period of 2 years. Also, by entering, the entrant agrees to be used as a reference for up to two years and his/her promotion and their likeness and comments be used in any future promotional literature. Everlast may ask for the entrant’s honest, heartfelt comments about the “prize” unit after a period of time to be used in evaluation, product improvement and promotions. No actual cash compensation will be made to the contest winner. The winning entrant also agrees to hold Everlast harmless /blameless against any, death, injury, loss of time, or other damage or inconvenience while using an Everlast product or by entering this contest. Everlast is not responsible for paying any applicable state, federal or local taxes that may be incurred from the winnings of this promotion and the winning entrant agrees to assume any tax responsibility and shipping incurred. Odds of winning are dependent upon the actual number of qualified entries received by the deadline date and time. By entering this contest, the contestant acknowledges and agrees to the terms and conditions of this contest. Final determination of eligibility is conditioned upon meeting the above criteria and the decision rests with Everlast.

    HAPPY POSTING!!! CONTEST STARTS.............................NOW!!!!!

OK, I'll give it a try.
    1. Already done.
    2. Enter me in the contest. 28 posts. Done.
    3. Not sure about this. Will make a signature line. Avatar required I guess. Vacaville CA. Done.
    4. Get ready for some posts.

The Profile will not allow me to change my Avatar - it says "Do not use avatar." and will not reset to something else (??).

Is the "60 posts" requirement the total between 3/1 and 4/30 OR the grand total since joining. In other words, over the 60 days are 60 additional posts required (one per day average)?

Avatars should be on, they were at least. I'll check again...If they aren't We will turn them on. As long as the requirements are completed by the end of the contest....

Avatars are those little pictures in the upper left that "represent" you or something you like.

Keep, in mind, we aren't looking for spam type posts...We are hoping people will police themselves on this point. It will take thought and creativity.

"My Account" is locked. Maybe that is where the avatar setting can be changed for my account. As of now "Do not use an avatar." is stuck on my profile setting page - there is no changing it.

You must enter your current post count here in your intro post in this thread.

All other post should be outside of this thread and on topic to make this contest have any merit to the forum.

Now where is the sign-up site?

Is it necessary to have an avatar? I tried to 'Edit Avatar' to add one but the site wouldn't allow a change.

I will go at this to.

    #1 Done
#2 My name is Jason and I am 27. I learned some stick welding in high school and didnt go further until about a year or two ago when I started using a mig welder on projects. I have found that access to a welder make's many things easier and faster such as making a tool rather than buying it and waiting for it to ship. I spend a lot of my free time build and working on cars which makes great use of welders. I pre ordered a PowerPro 256 as my first tig machine. I personally do not own a plasma however my friend does have one in the shop and I like it way more than the Oxy Acetylene set.
Anyhow this is my first post so Post Count is 0.
#3 Both are done. Edit Avatar will not work.
    #4 Will work at this.

put me on the list too.

For all the crap I've taken from the rednecks over on Weldingweb when I try to tell them what a great welder/ cutter my Everlast is, you should send me a nice free 256 right now!

Glen (worntorn and the name fits!)

I'll put up some pics of the plasma cuts I did with my 205 that made the Hypertherm guys so angry.
Some cuts were done with an expensive Hypertherm, some with the little multifunction Everlast. They couldn't pick out which was which!

    Hello World

Eide here, requesting to be entered into the competition. I have a PowerTig 225 LX that I'm quite happy with. Wish I would have gone with a multi unit, though, as I have a need for a plasma cutter now and again. St. Paul, MN is home. I start with zero posts, on my way to 60!

On the weekends I do custom machining on my own Bridgeport boss 3 axis cnc that I retro fitted with mach 3, gecko drives, pmdx boards, and a vfd. Mainly making Buell motorcycle parts. I live in ST.Cloud MN. I currently own a broke 256 with 15 minutes on it. Been calling Mike, emailing and posted on here for three weeks now and not much farther then when I started. I think I'm being stalled till the 30 day return is up. My post count is 1
