Thread: Stuff in Inventory?

    Default Stuff in Inventory?

    Hey Everlast folks,
Have you thought of utilizing the website to show stock of different welders, equipment, etc? I think it would be a positive thing if people could see what was "in stock" at a moments notice. It would definitely help my personal decision making process when the time comes for that plasma plasma cutter! Just a thought...

While it makes sense to the consumer it would not make sense to the seller. People would not buy what is not in stock and the money would be lost. Don't mean to speak for Oleg but getting the money in hand is the first priority of the vendor.

Tis about money no doubt. I think most folks call and verify stock prior to purchasing anyway. I see it as another facet of customer service.

Best thing is to email sales@everlastwelders.com or call in. Adding the inventory would require extra people and cost to the customer. And the inventory goes about as fast as it comes in these days.

It would be nice. Now maybe a page that shows what we are low or out of stock on? That is an Oleg call.

I am sure you guys must keep an inventory someplace? When you receive shipments, is it input to a database at all? If so you could always have the site read from that database to determine stock total. Not sure if your site is hosted in house or not and what type of system you have for inventory if any but its an idea and depending on the database if it exists may be accessible over the internet if offsite hosting.

I order car parts from a few different website's and one does not list inventory at all and another lists only when they are out of stock.

As you mentioned, it could be a nice feature but I wouldn't worry about it unless it did not require much overhead to put it in place. I placed my order over the phone and was told it was a pre-order so inventory did not matter to me.
