TIG Foot Pedals
The full range of Everlast foot pedals
Everlast TIG welder foot pedals are designed to work with Everlast foot pedals and are unique in connection and ohm value of the potentiometer. They are not intended to operate with other brands of welders Everlast offers several types of welder foot pedals, including an economy and a deluxe import pedals. Everlast also offers a US made pedal in the form of the SSC controls pedal. The SSC pedal is the ultimate welding pedal, and it is used as OEM equipment with several manufacturers. For the best control and sensitivity, select the SSC pedal. This is officially a 50k ohm pedal, but there is no difference in operation between a 47k and a 50k pedal. If you are looking for a better priced pedal, the new deluxe import pedal from Everlast is not far behind the SSC design in operation and sensitivity.
Choosing the correct pedal
When choosing your pedal, be aware of differences in ohm value of the potentiometers. Everlast has used 22k and 47k ohm value potentiometers in their pedals. If you currently have a pedal, and there is no external marking as to whether it is a 22k or a 47k pedal. You will need to disassemble the welder’s foot pedal to determine the markings on the rear of the potentiometer. This will indicate the actual ohm value of your pedal. If you do not have a foot pedal, or cannot open your pedal, contact Everlast Technical support for assistance. All pedals for the PowerTIG, PowerPro, PowerArc, and PowerMTS welders bought after Dec. 2015 should use a 22k pedal. Previous to that date, there is some variation in ohm value. This underscores the importance of correct foot pedal selection.
What to do if your new TIG welder does not come with a foot pedal
There are several welders that do not come with a foot pedal, even though they are equipped to be used with a foot pedal. If you just purchased or are considering purchasing a PowerARC 160STH, PowerTIG 185, or a Power i-TIG 200 or Power i-TIG 200T, you will need to purchase a pedal for your unit if you wish to use something other than torch switch control (2T/4T opration). If you do want a pedal, you will need to determine whether you want the new deluxe style or the SSC pedal for the best welding experience and to give you the most reliable control over the amperage of the welder. Please note that the ohm value for the new pedals are set at 22k. For older models, contact Everlast support to determine the correct pedal for your TIG welder.
