Welding aluminum is considered by most to be very difficult to weld. Whether you are a novice or expert, when welding aluminum, remember to weld only on "clean metal". This goes without saying but any metal, including aluminum needs to be free of dirt, oils, paint and oxide. Naturally over time, aluminum will build up a thin layer of oxide, all of these need to be removed during the prepping process.

When prepping your metal, follow these simple tips to remove oils, grease, paint and the oxide layer.
