The all new Tempest 401i MIG package is a true industrial power source type of unit. The welder's design features tough IP23 ingress protection standards, potted boards and internally durable construction make this a true jobsite machine, whether in the shipyard or out in the field. The welder can weld MIG, DC scratch start TIG, Stick and also features an air carbon arc gouge function for heavy duty gouging. The size of the power source means that it can be carried anywhere or be used in "Power Racks" on skids if needed. The wire feeder is a heavy 500A wire feeder with the capacity to feed wire over 850 IPM (22m/min). With the optional longer umbilical, the wire feeder can be used up to 75 feet away from the main power source. For Air Carbon Arc Cutting/Gouging, just connect your favorite gouging torch and select the setting and you are ready to go. The unit does come with an accessory package for MIG, TIG and Stick welding.

This unit is DC only. DC TIG is not recommended for welding Aluminum. With an optional polymer liner, the unit may also be used to weld aluminum with MIG.
